The land of Nyrondria existed for many millenia and during this time thousands of prophecies were made. According to legend, all of them came true – often more than once. The only surviving prophecies are from the tenth volume of a compendium compiled by followers of Dalanos during the turbulent period known as the Second Creation. The compendium was called The Book of Prophecies and no one is sure how many volumes it originally included. All we have left are a handful of pages illuminated by various members from different sects of the order. Chief among them is Master Evan Hoerston, Archive Regent of the High Temple of Dalanos.

All texts are written in ancient Nyrondrian, so I will translate them and their illuminations one by one as time allows, starting with Warrior of the Church which is a famous albeit short piece that has fulfilled itself countless of times in our history…

Warrior of the Church

by Supreme Father Faronel the Sacred in the year 441 of the Second Creation

This prophecy was written by Faronel the Sacred days before madness consumed him leading to his tragic death. It is rumored that the Dark Books he researched claimed his soul.
He wrote this prophecy then repated it over and over again on the same parchment. The rest of that day he spent weeping and muttering to himself. He fell ill shortly after, did not eat or drink but his body refused to release his soul for twenty nights and twenty days. Then when the moon was full one night, the old Father’s mouth uttered horrible words of sacrilige, anger and loathing, his skeleton-like hands making fists as demonic hatred overcame him. On that last cursed night I remeber as he sprang up and grabbed brother Ariman who tended him. He grabbed the man and lay a kiss on his forehead. In my nightmares I can still hear the brother’s deathly shrieks, his writhing body being consumed by demonic powers. In my mind’s eye I can still see what he became that night and the death that followed. We burned Father Faronel’s body that night and it is said it was not Dalanos who came to claim his soul but much darker entities.

- Master Montaire (Brother Ariman’s son), Light Heralds of Dalanos, in the year 503 of the Second Creation

If there is a prophecy here that we can call THE prophecy – you have it in front of you now. Deceptively mundane, the Order of Dalanos sees this as a vastly influential and important ‘prophecy of wrath’ – a prediction foretelling of evil times and unfortunate consequences. It speaks about trechery within our own order and revenge exacted by one or two individuals sent by the order. Both attributes are foreign to the followers of Dalanos so the order in question might also belong to Siik or Moander. A less popular interpretation is that someone from our holy order will study the Dark Books, will read the old scripts and train a brother for such unholy missions.

- First Master Morgan Malfero Sagamor, Threshold Guardians of Dalanos, in the year 828 of the Creation.

And there will be a holy man fleeing from the order with his two followers, for sacrilegious thoughts has he and his deeds are unlike his brethren. And there will be an apostle, and a religious man that turned against his old ways, and he shall come to the master of the order, speaker of our Lord, and he will be sent by the master and thus shall it be.

And the heathen shall set a trap. And he shall overcome it and his hand shall be triumphant. And he shall rise above the heathen and smite him. And he shall be a great man and he shall lead vast armies doing the bidding of our Lord. And where his feet rest, the land of the Lord shall it become. And all he shall say – word of the Lord they will be. And the people of the land shall kneel before him and his memory shall be immortal.
